Katherine I. (Ort) Egly

Katherine I. Egly, 72, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett, Indiana.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1951, in Auburn, Indiana, to Donald M. and Doris K. (Dickson) Ort.

Katherine married Phillip J. Egly on Feb. 21, 1970, in Auburn, and he passed away on Sept. 7, 2024.

She worked for Electric Motors in Garrett as an assembler for 42 years, retiring in 2017.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chris and Paula Egly, of Garrett and Brian Egly, of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Mollie (Allen Darby) Egly, Jarrett Egly and Nicole Egly; and three great-grandchildren, Arianna Egly, Elijah Egly and Hannah Zipful; and three siblings, Steve Ort, of Auburn, Nancy R. Ort, of Auburn and Connie J. Miller, of Auburn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Chad A. Egly; and a grandson, Scott Egly.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3-5 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.

A private family graveside service will take place at Circle Cemetery in Hudson.
