Kathy Marie (Combs) Fugate

Kathy Marie Fugate, 75, of Garrett, passed away, Monday, February 16, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.

She was born on October 2, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Junior Miles and Effie Mae (Turner) Combs.

Kathy worked for Electric Motors in Garrett for over 15 years, retiring in 2012.

She attended Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville.

Kath was a strong woman. She enjoyed playing poker with her friends, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are four children and their spouses, Sonny and Crystal Fugate of Avilla, Max and Stacey Fugate of Auburn, Trina Fugate of Garrett, and Terry and Jackie Fugate of Fort Wayne; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Beauford Mullins of LaOtto; 12 grandchildren, Courtney (Trey) Rhodes, Corey (Hope) Fugate, Jenee Maurer, Paige Fugate, Kaylee Fugate, Morgan Cusick, Austin Cusick, Devin Cusick, Kilah Fugate, Mariah Fugate, Cierrah Fugate and T.J. Fugate; four step-grandchildren, Anthony Morgan, Austin Morgan, Sierra Gerbers and Tyler Bard; and 13 great grandchildren, Sunnie Leon, Conrad Osborn, Corbin Rhodes, Theo Rhodes, Khari Abdirahman, May’Launi Harden, Carter Cusick, Harper Cusick Ryader Cusick, Kaysha Geist, Cials Bard, Chevvy Johnston, Paisley Bard, Halen Hall and Mackena Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Jeral (Sue) Richerson, Jimmy Combs, Diane Ferguson and Billy Combs; and two grandchildren, Cody Fugate and Stephanie Fugate.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Pastor Charlie Mosley officiating.

Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Huntertown.

Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
