Kelly Lyn (Kessler) Curry

Kelly Lyn Curry, 62, of Butler, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 16, 1964, in Auburn, Indiana to William R. “Bill” and Norma “Jean” (Troyer) Kessler.

Kelly was a 1982 graduate of Eastside High School in Butler, where she participated in gymnastics. She was also actively involved in DeKalb County 4-H.

She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who held a variety of positions throughout her life. She worked at Pittsfield in Hamilton, cared for a horse farm for several years, and provided childcare for numerous children. She also co-owned and operated A & K Lawn Care, worked at Walmart in Auburn, and remained active in the workforce throughout her life, most recently as an employee of Rieke Corporation in Auburn.

Kelly's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time outdoors 4-wheeling, fishing, tubing, and kayaking on the river. She also had a love for animals and sewing, found peace in listening to her wind chimes, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Kelly treasured the many phone conversations she shared with her mother, Jean, and her sister, Kim.

Surviving are six children, Cody (Lisa) Curry of Glenallen, Missouri, Zackary Curry of Huntertown, Brandi (Ashley) Curry of Butler, Trever Curry of Fort Wayne, Bryson (Megan) Curry of Butler, and Randi (Nick) Kumpfmiller of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Anastasia, Brittney “Liz”, Daisy, Keira, Marshall, Ella, Olivia and Ciri; three siblings, Kimberly (Casey) Boyd of Hudson, W. Kenneth (Lisa) Kessler of Hamilton, and Kori Kessler of Butler; and a niece and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Lily Curry; and nephew, Steven Kessler.

Services will be 5 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo.

Visitation will be from 3 – 5 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to DeKalb County 4-H.
