Kenneth A. Knox, 62, of Jimmerson Lake, Indiana, passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1963, in Fort Wayne, to O’Neill A. and Barbara J. (Kimpel) Knox.
Ken was a 1981 graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1982-1985.
Ken was a captain for the Auburn Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 2018.
He married Jackie Ohneck on Sept. 16, 2017, in Auburn, and she survives.
Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. A skilled craftsman, he loved working on his many projects. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Also surviving are two children and their spouses, Amara and Ben Sobczak, of Auburn, and Ty and Alex Knox, of Kendallville; daughter-in-law, Courtney (Brian) Weller, of Garrett; stepson, Derek Camp, of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Braylon Knox, Maddux Weller, Cooper Weller, Fletcher Weller, Lakelynn Sobczak, Bodey Sobczak, Thatcher Sobczak, Asher Knox and Arabella Knox; and two siblings, Tony W. (Toni) Knox, of Auburn, and Mindi (Louis Herman) Knox, of Edgerton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kelly Knox; son, JaBraun Knox; and a brother, Monte Knox.
A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.
A private family graveside service will take place at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne at a later date.
