Auburn – Kenneth W. Ort, 89 of Auburn went to be with the Lord, July 27, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Kenny was born December 7, 1932 in Woodburn, IN to Bert and Dora (Clark) Ort. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1951. Kenny married Marylou (Bauman) Ort on January 14, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn and she survives in Auburn. Ken proudly contributed 30 years of service to I & M/AEP as an engineer. In his free time Kenny enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed camping trips to Michigan every summer. Kenny was a history buff and he read extensively on his hero, Abraham Lincoln. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marylou, his children, Tamara Ort of Auburn and Gary Ort of Kendallville; 3 granddaughters, Chelsea Ort of Fort Wayne, Rachel Ort (Austin Vrba) of Kendallville, Ashley (Christian) Strack of Kendallville and a great granddaughter, Annelie Strack; 3 sisters, Helen Yeiser of St. Joe, Margaret Theil of Garrett and Mary Ann (Ron) Fisher of Topeka; Sister-In-law, Marjorie Bauman of Auburn, Brother-in-law, Pat (Ruth) Bauman of St. Louis, MO and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, a sister and 2 brother-in-law’s. Services will be 11 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with burial to follow in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett. Calling is Monday from 4 to 7 and also 1 hour prior to the service Tuesday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorials can be given in Ken’s name to Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
