Larry Handshoe Obituary

Larry Allen Handshoe, 59 of Rome City, Indiana entered eternal rest on March 19, 2026 after courageously winning his battle with cancer at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  He was surrounded by family and dear friends.

He was born on August 20, 1966 in Garrett to Kelly and Betty Jo (Collins) Handshoe.

Larry was a devoted husband, father and Papaw.  Larry met the love of his life at the young age of 20, and on August 15, 1998 in St. Joe, Indiana, he married Kimberly Cobler.  She was his soul mate and she meant the world to him.  She truly was his best friend.

He started the Handshoe Flea Market and Salvage in 1998 out of his garage and along with his family, he has grown it into what it is today.  Larry was best known in the community for his pure hearted love for others.  His family was the center of his world.  He was also known for a local toy drive that he started in 2014 to help children at need during the Holidays.  In 2021, Larry was named as one of Wane 15’s Hoosier Heroes, which was well deserved.
