Auburn – Lesla “Junior” Leins, 93, passed away Monday March 3, 2025 at Astral in Auburn.
He was born October 7, 1931 in Hudson, IN to Lesla Lee and Esther (Freed) Leins.
Junior was a US Army Veteran. He served during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He was a Richland Township Farmer for 18 years and Managed Mike Brady Stockyards in Corunna for 30 years before retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the American Legion in Butler and the Masonic Lodge. In October of 2016 he was privileged and honored to travel to Washington DC with the Northeast Indiana Honor Flight.
Junior married Dorothy “Dottie” Feller on June 26, 1954 in the Auburn Methodist Church and she survives in Auburn.
Also surviving are 3 sons and daughter-in-law’s, Gary and Sarah Leins of Auburn, Randy and Robin Leins of Auburn and Larry and Ginny Leins of Auburn; grandchildren, Stacy (Andy) Schmidt, Jessica (Justin) Fryback, Matt (Tessa) Leins, Kyle Leins, Brandon (Kelly) Leins, Landon (Taylor Rayle) Leins and Brooke (Blake) Richardson; great grandchildren, Connor Schmidt, Reese Schmidt, Quinn Schmidt, Addy Reinoehl, Aubrey Leins, Nash Leins, Destiny Leins, Miah Leins, Kayla Leins, Braden Leins and Braxton Leins; great great grandchildren, Breylin Hicks and Brohdi Hicks; sister, Doris Merrick of Blue Springs, MO and a brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Carole Leins of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Beatrice Leins, sister and brother-in-law, Iris and George Haskins and a brother-in-law, James Merrick.
Services will be 2 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706 with burial to follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Calling is 3 hours prior to the service Saturday from 11 to 2 at the funeral home. Memorials can be given in memory of Junior to Northeast Indiana Honor flight or DeKalb County 4-H.
