Lester W Rhodes

Auburn – Lester W Rhodes, 76, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his home in Auburn.

He was born in Indianapolis on May 22, 1949 to Oliver “Fred” and Mary A. (Meyer) Rhodes.

Lester was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam war and he worked as a shipping Clerk at Kautex-Textron in Avilla before retiring in 2014.

He enjoyed watching Danial O’Donnell sing and perform and he didn’t miss watching his favorite show on Saturday’s, Classic Tractor Fever.

Lester married Anita K Fugate on August 1, 1970 in Altona and she passed away June 23, 2024.

He is survived by 2 sons and a daughter and their spouses, Zack O. (Dawn) Rhodes of Garrett, Colleen K (James) Rhodes-Butterfield of Auburn and Lester W “Luke” (Heather) Rhodes of Auburn; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren with 2 more greats on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Roger Rhodes.

Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with burial to follow the service in Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett. Calling is Tuesday from 2 to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be given in memory of Lester to Cancer services of Northeast Indiana.
