Lois M. "Tutu" Miller Obituary

Lois M. “Tutu” Miller, 90 of Auburn, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at her Auburn home surrounded by her family.   

Mrs. Miller was born on September 27, 1934 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Rupert and Elsie (Roach) Booth.  She went on to graduate from Fremont High School in 1952.

She married Dannie R. Miller on August 27, 1953 in Angola.  He preceded her in death on April 25, 2020.

Mrs. Miller worked as the head librarian at the Naval Communications Station Puerto Rico for two years while her husband was stationed there during his time in the United States Navy.  She later worked in the Rieke Corporation Lunch Room in Auburn for 16 ½ years before retiring in 1992.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Auburn and the Charm and Chatter Home Economic Club.  She was an animal lover and had many beloved cats over the years.  Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family.  She loved spending time with them and following the grandkids in all of their sports and activities.  She always made sure that her family received a card from her on their birthdays, she will be greatly missed!   

Survivors include: 

Son and daughter-in-law, David and Diane Miller of Middlebury, Indiana.

Daughter and son-in-law, Laura Smock and Tahl Glass of Auburn.

Daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Bal of Ocala, Florida.

14 grandchildren and their spouses or partners, Heather and Chad O’Dell, Michael Harris, Stacie and Ben Kelly, Megan and Rob Jefferson, Shaun Miller and Tabitha Sloan, James and Jenny Miller, Joseph and Julie Nack, Daymond Nack and Laura Beal, Christopher Smock and Kaelly Collins, Carrie and John Mason, Jennifer and Chad Leavell, Jason and Amanda Vian, Craig and Hillary Bal, Brenda Bal-Bandych and Bret Bandych.

24 great-grandchildren and their spouses, Nolan O’Dell, Camden O’Dell, Alexis Kelly, Ashlyn Kelly, Lauren Kelly, Tiana and Will Soto, David and Karley Harris, Nadia Miller, Liam Miller, Quinn Miller, Alec Miller, Nolan Nack, Kaden Nack, Elliot Nack, Isla Nack, Logan Jordan, Ethan Jordan, Ryann Mason, Camden Walter, Brody Walter, Collin Leavell, Addie Leavell, Kelly Bal, Caroline Bal.

Three great-great-grandchildren, Vincent Soto, Eden Harris, Elijah Harris.

Sister, Joyce Razee of Bend, Oregon.

Brother and sister-in-law, William and Jan Booth of Sun City, Arizona.

Cousin, Linda and Alan Schneider of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Jack Badman of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dannie Miller; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Miller; brother, James Booth and brother-in-law, Dale Razee.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

Memorials may be given in memory of Lois to the DeKalb Humane Society, PO Box 806, Auburn, Indiana 46706.
