Lori Elizabeth David, age 56, of Waterloo was called to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was surrounded by loved ones as she went peacefully to Heaven where she gained her wings.
Lori was born on December 11, 1964 in Anderson, Indiana to William C. Workman Sr. and Betty (Hurst) Workman. Lori was a 1983 graduate of Northrup High School in Fort Wayne, with some of her best friends who she is still friends with today.
She married Donald R. David on July 11, 1987 in Lemon Grove, California. Donald survives in Waterloo.
Lori was a waitress for nearly 20 years at The Grabill Inn, where she was like family to the owners, and to her coworkers. She was a huge part of the Grabill Amish Community; they simply adored her. She treated everyone with respect. To her, everyone was equal.
Lori was a free spirit who enjoyed the little things in life. She was very family oriented, if you were her friend, you were her family. She absolutely loved to be on the Harley, with the wind blowing in her hair, and her arms wrapped around the love of her life; to her, that was Heaven on Earth. She loved to karaoke with her husband, children, and friends, sing in the car, and listing to her husband sing was one of her favorite things.
She was a wonderful mother, and she always made sure her children had everything, even when they had nothing. She made miracles happen every year during the holidays. She always told her children; “Put your faith in God, in all things, and he will provide.” She was absolutely right. She was a very Faithful woman, Raised Baptist, She had high morals and taught her kids how to be kind, loving, and giving. She taught her children by paying it forward, it was not just good for them, but good for you too. She was all about random acts of kindness, always putting everyone else before herself.
Lori was loved by countless people, she always knew someone anywhere she went. She was selfless, kind, loving, loyal, and the best person you could have by your side. She was an Angel, just like her Father. We were all so very Blessed to have had Lori in our lives. Love you more, Chica.
