Louis Boyer

Louis Boyer, age 85, of Hamilton passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Parkview Hospice in Fort Wayne.

He was born on April 3, 1933 in Melbourne, Ohio to Harman and Florence (Wally) Boyer.  He was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School.

He married Dorothy Jane Jones on June 14, 1952.  She resides in Hamilton.

Mr. Boyer retired from International Harvester in 1983.  He owned and operated the Hamilton Lake Laundromat for several years.  He also worked at Smith Farms Manor in Auburn and was a janitor for Hamilton Community Schools.   

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.  He was also a member of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department for many years and he was a founding member of the Hamilton Fish and Game Club. 

Survivors Include:

His wife; Jane Boyer of Hamilton.

Daughter and son-in-law; Jessie and Lynn Strock of Hamilton.

Daughter and son-in-law; Joice and Dan Smith of Hamilton.

Daughter and son-in-law; Diana and Steve Chipman of Hamilton.

Seven grandchildren and their spouses; Erin and Erick Figueras, Allison and Gentry Caton, Andrew Strock, Danielle and David Jackson, Ashley and Todd Sutton, Dustin and Suzanne Chipman, Cole and Kristy Chipman and one grandson-in-law; Tony Schiffli.

Fifteen great grandchildren; Preston Figueras, Harrison Figueras, Hartley Caton, Suede Schiffli and his fiance' Allison Henn, Hunter Schiffli, Steele Jackson, Sea' Jackson, Nick Jackson, Aspen Sutton, Harbor Sutton, Sully Chipman, Rhett Chipman, Zoie Chipman, Reed Chipman and Alyvia Chipman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Genevieve Higley and two brothers; Bill Boyer and John Boyer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1098 County Road 39 in Waterloo with Father Vincent Joseph officating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department, 7760 S Wayne Street, Hamilton, Indiana 46742.
