Margaret “Joan” Ruger, 94, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Astral at Auburn.
She was born October 25, 1930, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Edward C. and Margaret J. (Helmke) Knobeloch.
Joan married Edward A. Ruger on April 11, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he passed away in 2005.
She worked for ITT in the Aero Space Division, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Auburn. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 26 of Delphos, Ohio, and the American Legion Auxiliary of Payne, Ohio.
Surviving are daughter, Anna M. Friend, and her husband, Jim of Garrett; two grandchildren, Amy and Michael Ritchie and Christopher and Andrea Friend; and four great grandchildren, Dylan Ritchie, Landon Ritchie, Theodore Friend and Hudson Friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Edward C. Ruger.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with the Rev. Jonathan Hunter officiating.
Burial will take place at Hamilton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
