Margaret M. (Carpenter) Scoles

Margaret M. Scoles, 73, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, in Auburn, Indiana, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born and raised in Indiana, Margaret devoted her life to her family and her faith. She was a strong, caring woman who faced her recent battle with cancer with great courage and grace. A faithful follower of Jesus, Margaret lived her life guided by her love for the Lord and shared that love with those around her.

Margaret found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, cherishing every moment together. She enjoyed relaxing by the pool on sunny days and could often be found soaking up the warmth while tanning. She also loved playing the game Candy Crush, proudly reaching level 2,460.

Throughout her life, Margaret touched countless lives with her generosity and kindness. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the good in people, even in those who had wronged her, and she always chose compassion over bitterness. Her willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her.

Margaret’s strength, kindness, faith, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Paul Carpenter; her grandchildren, Britnee Garwood, Dustane Ballard, Amber Marie, Kristlen carpenter; her great grandchildren, Kaylyn Cameron, Dean Goodin, Bentlee Ables, Laiyah Garwood, Madison, Kayson Chriswell, Harlow Rowlett and Crue Rowlett. She had 13 brothers and sisters.  Beloved best friend, Jeff Sanford. Sisters, Debra Belcher & Anna Carpenter.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Bloomberg/ Carpenter; father, George Carpenter; husband, Glen Scoles; daughter, Kristina Carpenter and son, Gary Carpenter and many friends who will carry her memory in their hearts. 

A private service will be held by the family to honor Margaret’s life on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Franke Park on Sherman Blvd. in Fort Wayne.
