Mark L. Cook

Mark L. Cook, 74 of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Stillwater Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

He was born on January 29, 1952 in Auburn and he was a 1970 graduate of DeKalb High School.   

Mark married Kathleen Y. Blume on March 17, 1984 at the St. Joe United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.  Kathy resides in Auburn.

He worked for Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne for 30 years, retiring in August of 2001.  After his retirement from Dana, Mark worked at the Sprinkling Can delivering plants and flowers for five years.  He then worked for S&S Oil for five years maintaining 23 of their convenience stores.  Finally, Mark worked for Bassett Office Supply in Auburn making deliveries for an additional five years.  Mark’s joy was woodworking in his garage and he also enjoyed fishing and spending time on his front porch with Kathy.

His wife, Kathy Cook of Auburn.

Son, Michael Light (Diana) of Tucson, Arizona.

Brother and sister-in-law, John and Kathleen Cook of Indianapolis.

Sister, Sara Cook of Auburn.

Sister, Judy Cook (Cathy Dibdahl) of Westerville, Ohio.

Sister-in-law, Pamela Crossman (Mike Duffy) of Sun City, Arizona.

Nieces and nephews, Heather and Brian Miller, Danielle and Marty Silvas, Michael and Kristyn Crossman, Randy and Kelly Cook and Lauren and Gregg Barthelmes.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Paul Cook; mother and stepfather, Rosemarie and Glen Culbertson and one brother, Dean Cook.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. 

A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor John McCullough officiating.

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
