Mary Lou Baughman, 85 of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her Butler home.
She was born on May 31, 1939 in Butler to Clyde “Brooks” and Mary (Witt) Trenary.
Mary Lou married Jordan DeWayne Baughman on December 5, 1958 in Newville and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2016.
She worked for many years in the title research business and as a secretary at the John Martin Smith Law Firm in Auburn. Mary Lou and Jordan were also local lifetime farmers. Their joy was spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Jordan Max (Chris) Baughman of Butler; two daughters, Mary Jo (Deb Fairhurst) Baughman of Nineveh, Indiana and LuAnn (Bill) Leighty-Fosnaugh of Rome City.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jacob (Jenny Fox) Leighty of Rome City, Ryan (Jaimie) Leighty of Rome City, Barry (Laura) Baughman of Fort Wayne, Jessica (Kyle) Esselburn of Huntertown, Matthew (Allison) Fosnaugh of Corpus Christi Texas and Michael Fosnaugh; great grandchildren, Grey (Lauren) Fox, Dylen Fox, Ella Leighty, Jordan Rose Leighty, Rhianna Leighty, Jazmin Leighty, Logan Leighty, Brantlyn Hodge, Case Hodge, Teigh Dean, Zavior Esselburn, Teagan Esselburn, Brogan Esselburn, Sadie Fosnaugh, Lucas Fosnaugh, Olivia Fosnaugh, Rowan Fosnaugh; sister, Ruth Fetters of Wawaka and five sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Jane) Bales of Auburn, Charlotte Rogers of Kendallville, Virginia Aschelman of Auburn, Mary Ellen Warfield of Garrett and Carolyn Baughman of Camden, Michigan along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jordan; four brothers, Forest “Bud” Trenary, Donald Trenary, Max Trenary and Floyd Trenary and five sisters, Doris Matherly, Joan Cook, Audrie Walter, Opal Mason and Alice Yarde.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Burial will take place at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
