Melvin Menno Miller, 76, of Waterloo, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 14, 1942, in Altona to the late John Henry and Virginia (Bucher) Miller.
Melvin was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam War.
He married Diane E. Williams on June 22, 1966, in Oceanside, California, and she passed away Nov. 19, 2009.
Melvin worked as a pipefitter for Fort Fabrication/Viking Inc. in Fort Wayne, retiring after more than 30 years of service.
Melvin loved collecting coins, Pogo computer games, and his family, especially the family visits on Sunday afternoons.
Surviving are four children, Mike and Melanie Miller of Auburn, Jimmy Miller of Fremont, Donald Miller of Waterloo, and Teresa and Bart George of Hamilton; 12 grandchildren, Eleshia Miller, Matthew George, Kimberly George, Alexis George, Justin George, Cory Miller, Mikayla Miller, Amber Kuhn, Hunter Miller, Aaron Brown, Kristin Brown and Alex Robinson; 12 great-grandchildren, Kaeleigh Rathburn, Ashlynn Rathburn, Lillian Rathburn, Jaxson Rathburn, Daniel Tyree, Athena Kuhn, Elena Kuhn, Carter Miller, Orion Miller, Jullian Miller, Kayden Miller and Nova Miller; and a brother-in-law, James Williams of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Chris Miller; and five brothers, Johnny Miller, Dick Miller, Bob Miller, Jim Miller and Nelson Miller.
Services will be noon Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Craig officiating. Burial will take place in Waterloo Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Marine Corps.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
