Michael Beebe Obituary

Michael J. Beebe, 78, of Auburn, passed away, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.

He was born July 16, 1948, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to William C. and Anna L. (Billow) Beebe.

Michael attended Eastside High School in Butler.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War from 1969 – 1971. Michael was in the Americal Division 4th of the 3rd 11th Infantry. During his time in the Army, he was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Michael married Jennifer Hines on October 31, 1981, in Auburn, Indiana.

Michael began his career with Auburn Gear in 1968 and dedicated 34 years to the company. He later worked as a line board technician for Moore’s Welding Service in Leo for 11 years, retiring in 2012.

He was a member of Harvest Fellowship in Fort Wayne.

Michael was an active member of American Legion Post 97 in Auburn, where he was also a member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 97.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, salmon fishing, snow skiing, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his many friends.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Jennifer Beebe of Auburn; two daughters, Jody D. Geisinger of Auburn, and Rachel J. Guenin of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Jenna (Joey) Mahnesmith, Marissa Myers, Anjelica Prince, Paige Hentzell, Timothy (Nevaeh) Bailey, Rachael Guenin, Leah (Kevin) Ford, and Rebekah (Ian) Stammen; 13 great grandchildren, Zaphera, Wyatt, Wade, Novaleah, Carolyn, Lilly, Emmaline, Andie, Vincent, Miley, Octavia, Killian, and Levi; sister, Penny (Don) Sechler of St. Joe; sister-in-law, Dorothy Beebe; a special nephew, Nicholas Hines of Coranado, California; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Beebe; and two sisters, Patricia (Jack) Brueggeman, and Nancy Van Cleave.  

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. Monday, prior to the service.

Pastor Paul Mowrey will be officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army, American Legion Post 97 of Auburn, and American Legion Post 178 of Garrett.

Visitation also will be from 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn at a later date.
