Mildred Ruth (Nash) Reese

Mildred Ruth Reese, age 81, of Auburn, Indiana and formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her Auburn home.

She was born on July 7, 1944 in Royston, Georgia to Charles G. and Julia Mildred (Shaw) Nash.  

Ruth married Spencer Dean Reese on October 13, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Spencer resides in Auburn. 

She worked for Magnavox in Fort Wayne for over 30 years before going to work for ITT in Fort Wayne from 1995 until her retirement in 2008. 

Ruth was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.  She enjoyed growing flowers and tending to houseplants.  She also enjoyed reading and she liked to go shopping.  She loved spending time with her rescue dog, Pixie. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Survivors include:

Her husband, Spencer Reese of Auburn.

Daughter, Debbie Pitzer of Fort Wayne.

Daughter, Becky Reese of Fort Wayne.

Son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amy Reese of Zionsville, Indiana.

Five grandchildren: Samantha Hart, Lauren Shuler, Hannah Pitzer, Andrew Shuler and Kirsten and Ron Franklin.

One great granddaughter, Winter Rose Franklin.

Brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Pat Nash of Fort Wayne.

Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.   

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn, Indiana.  Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Ruth to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805.
