Moody Damron, age 82 of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his Butler home.
He was born on February 2, 1942 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Charlie and Lucinda (Newsom) Damron.
Moody married Irma Lee Hudson on May 13, 1964 in Vergie, Kentucky. She recently preceded him in death on December 1, 2024.
Moody worked for Dutch Made Cabinets in Grabill for several years before going to work for Dura in Butler for 20 years before retiring. He could fix anything with a small engine and helped people with this for many years. He always had go karts, mini bikes, jiggers and gators around, which the kids and later the grandkids, loved to ride on. Moody was also known for taking in stray cats, feeding them and building them outdoor shelters providing them with a good home. He also would feed squirrels and rabbits, often right out of his hand. Moody also enjoyed fishing in his free time.
Survivors include:
Son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lisa Damron of Edgerton, Ohio.
Son, Kevin Damron of Butler.
Eight grandchildren, Annie Brown, Kayleigh Brown, Missi and Steve Shull, Chelsea Aldrich and Nick Notestine, Jesse and Angle Damron, Brandon and Destine Damron, Hannah Damron and Shelby Riedel.
14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Sister, Mary Smartt of Tennessee.
Sister, Berniece Thacker of Tennesse.
Sister-in-law, Glo Barnette of Woodstock, Ohio.
Damron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irma Damron; son, Bobby Damron; granddaughter, Amber Conway; grandson-in-law, Adam Brown and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at the Butler Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Moody to Parkview Hospice, 1900 Carew Street, Unit 6, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805.
