Nathan Trubey Obituary

Nathan Allen Trubey (Gump), age 30 of Avilla, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, in Auburn, Indiana. Nathan was born on December 5, 1994, in Auburn, Indiana, to Duane Trubey and Tracy Hullinger (Kinney). He grew up in Kendallville, Indiana, where he attended East Noble High School before entering the workforce.

Nathan was known for his warm sense of humor and love for the outdoors, often spending time fishing or tinkering with cars, lawn mowers, small appliances and many other things (pulling them apart and never putting them back together). He had a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a hand to friends and family. Nathan will be remembered for his kind heart and unwavering loyalty to those he cared about. He loved playing his guitar after he taught himself to play.

He is survived by his mother, Tracy Hullinger (Kinney) and step-dad, James Hullinger; Grandparents, Eugene and Janice Mosely, Max and Linda Trubey, Bill and Shirley Hullinger,  Mary Lou Myers as well as his siblings brother, Doug Mosley (Tabby Morgan), his sister Taneka Trubey (Justin Williamson); Step sister, Breana Hullinger (Joe Stanley); nieces and nephews, Brantlee Perkins, Shaylee Trubey, Greyson Williamson, Lilyana Hullinger, Lane Householder and extended family, Aunt, Kimberley Caba (Todd Carteaux) and her son, Tytan Caba; Aunt, Shawn Myers; Uncle, Doug Myers (Mellisa Boyd); Aunt, Deb Gaskill; Uncle, Denny Trubey (Patti Trubey);  Aunt, Amy Jo Mosley (Jerry Mosley) and kids, Charles Hullinger and kids; cousins, Bryan Trubey, Sarah Zehner, Jinnifer Silvernail, Carrie Gibson, Cathy Drew, Christy Weber, Amber Knuckles, Linda Stacy, Miranda Sellers, Tytan Caba, Ricky Lannet, Bailey Tandy, Hailey Myers, Jackson Myers and so many more and many close friends who will miss him dearly.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Duane Trubey; Great Grandparents, Kenneth and Madgeline Howard; Grandparents, Caroline Trubey; Grandpa, Larry Kinney; Sister, Shawntah; Aunt, Jeanie Mosley and Uncle, Brian Ferrell.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their care and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Earl Terry officiating.

Burial will take place at the Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo. 

Paul Bearers will be Doug Mosely, Trevor Howard, Jeremy Howard, Tytan Caba, Doug Myers, Daniel McGlothlin, Chase Gamble, and Frankie Lopez. Honorary Paul Bearers will be Brantlee Perkins and Greyson Williamson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the GoFundMe on Facebook or to his sister, Taneka Trubey to help with final expenses.
