Nila Jean (Witt) Murray

Nila Jean Murray, age 86, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Murray was born October 13, 1935 in Auburn to A.J. and Effie (Barton) Witt.

She married Carl Murray on September 8, 1956 in the Church of the Brethren in Auburn and he passed away September 17, 2015.

Mrs. Murray worked as a bookkeeper for the Auburn State Bank for 27 years. She then went to work for Kruse International in Marketing for 15 years, retiring in 2000.

She was a member of Lakewood Park Baptist Church in Auburn. 

Survivors Include:

Son and daughter-in-law; Matthew and Beverly Murray.

Daughter and son-in-law; Marla and Don Bettinger.

Daughter; Monique Smith.

Two granddaughters; Tiffany Ross and Brittany Lapland.

Six grandsons; Aaron Bettinger, Andrew Bettinger, Isaac Bettinger, Micah Bettinger, Chuck Oberlin and Zech Oberlin.

Eight great grandchildren; Blake Oberlin, Teanna Shultz, Alysa Oberlin, Luca Ross, Ezra Lapland, Liam Ross, Irene Bettinger and Ada Bettinger.

Sister and brother-in-law; Patti and Grant Hoatson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Carl Murray.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
