Norbert A. "Norb" Miller

Norbert A. “Norb” Miller, 78, of Waterloo, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born April 21, 1945, in Garrett, Indiana to Paul and Bernadine (Herber) Miller.  He was a 1963 graduate of Ashley High School.

Norb married Doris Ellert on February 5, 1972, at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

He was a lifetime DeKalb County farmer. He also was a bus driver for the DeKalb Central School District for 43 years.

Norb was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in rural Waterloo. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6508 of Edgerton, Ohio, and the DeKalb County Horseman’s Association.

Norb enjoyed being outside farming and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Doris Miller of Waterloo; two children and their spouses, Brad and April Miller of Waterloo, and Becky and Brad Roller of Corunna; five grandchildren, Landon Miller, Carter Miller, Jazmine Miller, Lukaas (Natalie Montoya) Roller and Mariah Roller; three siblings, Mary (Ken) Dunn of Georgia, Bill (Lily) Miller of Florida and Ed Miller of Hamilton; four sisters-in-law, Jane (Jackie Pranger) Ellert of Fort Wayne, Bev (Jack) Birley of Hamilton, Maxine (Frank) Dunn of Waterloo and Janet (Terry) Kurtz of Waterloo; and a brother-in-law, Ed (Penny) Ellert of Waterloo.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Miller and Herman Miller; and a brother-in-law, Howard Ellert.

 A rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1098 C.R. 39, Waterloo, followed by visitation from 10 a.m. – noon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at noon Monday, April 1, 2024, at the church, with Father Levi Nkwocha officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Brad Miller, Brad Roller, Lukaas Roller, Landon Miller, Carter Miller, Bob Miller and Ryan Miller.

Memorials may be directed the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
