Patricia Foster Obituary

Patricia Diane Foster, 73, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was born on July 28, 1951, in Long Island, New York, to Herman E. and Jennifer (Antonowitz) Graham. Patricia grew up in a Navy family and was primarily raised in Panama City, Florida.

Patricia earned salutatorian honors at both the high school and collegiate level, reflecting her consistent academic excellence. While attending the University of West Florida, she met a Navy man and fell in love.

Patricia married David E. Foster on June 23, 1973, at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida.

She was a teacher for one year, while living in Florida. After moving to Auburn, she began working as a substitute teacher for St. Joseph Catholic School; DeKalb Central United School District, DeKalb Eastern School District and Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community School District. She then worked for the United States Post Office in Auburn for 33 years, starting as a carrier, then advancing to a window clerk. She retired in 2013.

Patricia enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, playing “school” with her grandchildren, and cooking — especially her famous mac and cheese. She loved taking rides with her husband, shopping, meeting people, and always tried to make the world a better place through her kindness. But most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, David E. Foster, of Auburn; daughter and son-in-law, Kelli D. and Jeff Johnson, of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Isabella Gettys and Glorianna Johnson; sister and brother-in-law, Jacquelyn “Jacquie” and Aaron Lovett, of Panama City, Florida; sister-in-law, Linda Graham, of Illinois; mother-in-law, Kathleen Foster, of Garrett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Teri Foster; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christina and George Kotopolous; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Robert Foster; daughter, Jill A. Foster; and a brother, John Graham.
