Angola – Phyllis A Hartman, 91 of Angola passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne surrounded by her family.
She was born March 22, 1934 in Ashley to Fredrick B. and Catherine (Karst) Miller.
Phyllis worked at the Auburn Rubber Company, Magnavox in Auburn and Garrett, Dana Weatherhead in Angola, QC Onicis in Angola and Mid America Electronics before retiring in 2005.
She attended St. Michaels Catholic Church in Waterloo. Phyllis enjoyed bowling. She bowled in the Angola Redwood Lanes Bowling League for over 50 years. She loved tending to her flowers, cooking big meals for her family, camping and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed attending and watching all the activities her grandchildren were involved in.
She married Maynard “Mike” Hartman on June 21, 1952 in St. Michaels Catholic Church and he passed away February 17, 2012.
Surviving are 5 children and their spouses, Jerry L. (Tracey) Hartman of Waterloo, David M (Angela) Hartman of Byhalia, MS, Janice M. (Guy) Wright of Angola, Janet A (Ted) Hinkley of Angola and Peggy R. (Larry McDonald) Sanders of Orland; 32 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren; a half-sister, Connie (Kent) Farley of Idaho Falls, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Eldon Miller, Herbert Miller, and Frank Miller; 5 sisters, Heneriette Goebel, Francis Lemish, Betty Smith, Josephine Riddle and Mary Ferris and step-mother, Francis Miller.
Services will be 11 AM Saturday January 3, 2026 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN 46793 with burial to follow in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna. Visitation is 4 to 7 Friday and 1 hour prior to the service Saturday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home.
