Phyllis Hoffman Richardson, 91, of Auburn and formerly of Evansville, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born February 2,1935, in Evansville, Indiana to Roy and Leona Hoffman.
Phyllis lived in Evansville her entire life and had relocated recently to live near her daughter.
Phyllis worked as a secretary for 50 years but after “retiring” she worked at Sears Auto center for another 10 years. She then spent her time volunteering for Road to Recovery and Chemo Buddies in Evansville.
She was known my many different names; Mom, Philly, Aunt Philly, Cardy, Cousin, Grandma Philly.
Her greatest joy was her family and friends. She was the happiest when her home and table were full. Her door was open to anyone at anytime.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Roy and Leona Hoffman; her sister, Martha Rae Reed; her nephew, Charles Reed; and great nephews, Trevor, Nick, and Jake.
She is survived by her husband, Elby Richardson; daughter, Mary Catherine Burch, “Cath” (Sandy); grandson, AJ Cole; nieces, Marlene Hart (Dave), Vicky Reed, Elaine Swain (Dan); nephew, Christopher Reed; cousins, Claudette and George Cirks, Kelly Zoller, and Mary Catherine Ross; family-by-love, Michele, Monty, Garrett, and Anna Guenin; her chosen sister, Marlene Coomer; and too many friends and acquaintances to mention.
A remembrance gathering will take place from 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn.
A time of sharing will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, following the gathering at the funeral home.
