Ralph Ellis Noragon, 82, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Harold B. and Gretchen G. (Johnson) Noragon.
He was a 1960 graduate of St. Joe High School.
Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
He married Betty Hartman on July 14, 1962, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Ralph worked for the Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, for more than 30 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of Auburn Church of Christ.
Ralph was a member of American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.
He enjoyed building birdhouses, feeding the birds and squirrels in his yard and loved to collect various things. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known by many as a prankster. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Betty Noragon, of Auburn; four children, Kenneth (Traci Surber) Noragon, of Kendallville, Tim (Connie) Noragon, of Schofield, Wisconsin, Mark (Aimiee) Noragon, of Columbia City and Hope (Joe) Wojciechowski, of Auburn; nine grandchildren, Crystal, Austin, Tyler, Kelsey, Baley, Chance, Tailor, Ryce and Payton; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Noragon.
A gathering of family and friend will take place from 1-4 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Military Honors being conducted at 4 p.m., by the United States Army, American Legion Post 97 of Auburn and American Legion Post 178 of Garrett.
