Reba Knapp Obituary

Reba M. Knapp, age 91 of Port St. Lucie, Florida and formerly of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. 

She was born in Dryden, Virginia on May 12, 1933 to Samuel and Zona Mae (Roberts) Gunn. 

Reba and her family moved to Auburn in the 1950’s.  She met her beloved husband Dwight Morris while working as a carhop at the Auburn Dairy Freeze.  They were married on August 13, 1955 in Angola and he preceded her in death September 18, 1986.  Reba married her second husband, James E. Knapp on February 18, 1989 in Newville, Indiana and he survives in Port St. Lucie.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Friends, relatives and anyone that crossed her path knew her as humble, kind and generous.  Reba was an avid reader, very socially active, loved water aerobics, shuffleboard, paddle boating on the river and game nights with her friends.

Survivors include:

Her husband, Jim Knapp Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Daughter, Sonya Morris of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Son, Steve Morris, Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Daughter, Laura Morris of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Granddaughter, Chelsey Rhew-Plante & Danny Plante of Georgia.

Two great granddaughters, Sonya Ginette and Savannah Ryan.

Sister, Mary Ann Clark of Virginia.

Brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Sue Gunn of Virginia.

Sister-in-law, Patsy Gunn.

Many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight Morris; six brothers, Jessie Gunn, Raymond Gunn, Charles Marion, Robert “Red” Gunn and William “Kyser” Marion and one infant brother.

No service will be held per Reba’s wishes.  There will be a Celebration of Life in Auburn this summer, with location and time shared at a later date.
