Richard “Dick” Eugene Johnston, age 66 of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on April 14, 1959 in Auburn to Harold Sr. and Joan (Luttman) Johnston.
He worked at EaglePicher and for the last five years Ball Brass and Aluminum Foundry. Dick loved to fish, spending time with his brother, Harold Jr., he enjoyed collecting knives and working in the yard while drinking a nice cold one.
Surviving are four sisters, Elizabeth House, Mary Jane Cain, Hettie Shetley and Colleen Shetley; two brothers, Robert Johnston and David Johnston, Sr.; granddaughter, Kiesha Wiseman; two great grandchildren, Bentley Jacobs and Jasper Jacobs; a nephew that resided at home with him, Jeremy Shetley and other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
We want to thank Donna Johnston for her caring support in helping Dick with his medical needs and taking him to all of his appointments.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Joan (Luttman) Johnston; three brothers, Donald Sr., Jim and Harold Jr.; ex-wife, Robin Wiseman; four brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life on January 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Quiet Knight Hall, 1721 Wayne Street in Auburn.
