Rick Woebbeking

Rick Woebbeking, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away April 21, 2026 at his home in Waterloo, Indiana.

He was born May 21, 1953 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Marvin and Marjorie (Hamm) Woebbeking.

Rick married Lisa (Butler) Woebbeking on April 19, 1980 and shared 46 wonderful years of marriage together.

A proud graduate of DeKalb High School, Class of 1971, he remained deeply connected to the Auburn and DeKalb County communities throughout his life. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation wherever he went.

Rick dedicated more than three decades of service as a technician at the Transportation Department at DeKalb Central School District and volunteered for over 20 years as the videographer for DeKalb High School Football and Basketball games.

After retirement, he continued sharing his passion and expertise while working at Impact Institute as an assistant instructor in the Automotive Service Technology department, where he loved mentoring students and passing on his mechanical knowledge.

He spent many years coaching youth softball and basketball, not only teams for his three daughters, but for others in the community. He loved teaching the fundamentals, the importance of teamwork, and was a positive influence on countless young athletes.

Rick is lovingly survived by his wife Lisa; daughters, Katie Woebbeking, Camille Moore, Kirsten (Geoff) Kolar and his grandchildren, Maysen (13), Lincoln (9), Caroline (6), Grant (7), Beatrice (4), and Benjamin (3). Being Grandpa was one of Rick’s greatest joys, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.

He is also survived by his siblings, Dennis (Sally) Woebbeking, Cindy (Joe) Lee, Connie (Robin) Wyatt, and Gary (Kim) Woebbeking along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Marjorie Woebbeking.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn, Indiana.  Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna, Indiana.
