Robert F. Burlingame

Robert F. Burlingame, 78, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021, at his home in Avilla.

Robert was born September 10, 1942, in Alma, Michigan to Ora G. and Bernadine M. (Napieralski) Burlingame. They both preceded him in death.

He graduated from Alma College in Alma, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1962 – 1966 during the Vietnam War. 

Robert married Janis L. Welty on July 27, 1968, in Livonia, Michigan, and she survives in Avilla.

He was an insurance agent for Ayres Insurance in Sturgis, Michigan.

Robert and Janis loved to travel with the many insurance related cruises and tours. He also enjoyed hunting trips with his son and daughter.

Also surviving are a son, Craig R. Burlingame of Homer, Michigan; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa A. and Trent T. Hoffman of Fort Wayne; three granddaughters, Morganne Burlingame, Holly Hoffman and Eve Hoffman; as well as three siblings, Richard (Barbara) Burlingame of Owosso, Michigan, Marianne (Warren) Barrone of Bradenton, Florida, and Michael Burlingame of Saranac, Michigan.

There will be no service taking place.

Burial will take place at a later date in Constantine Township Cemetery in Constantine, Michigan.
