Robert "Bob" Ostheim

Robert "Bob" Ostheim, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 25th, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on August 5th, 1943, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Bob was the son of the late Robert and Mary Jane Ostheim. After graduation, Bob served his country in the US Air Force for 6 years.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Dennis Ostheim.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Ostheim, whose partnership he cherished. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Bob is also survived by his children, Michael (Sarah) Ostheim, Robert (Catherine) Ostheim, Doug (Patricia) Kruse, Daniel (Erin) Kruse, Deborah (Scott) Knollenberg, former wife and close friend Tamiko McNurlan, brothers Ronald (Midge) Ostheim and Mark (Phyliss) Ostheim. His family extended to his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Bob enjoyed golfing with his sons and friends, which included plenty of laughter and foolishness. His large Indiana family kept him busy with countless sporting events. His enjoyment of golf and sporting events was only surpassed by his enthusiasm for tackling endless household projects. Whether fixing, building, or simply tinkering, Bob found pleasure in these tasks. He loved spending winters in Florida with his BFF’s and busy weekly agendas, which were always filled with lively conversation and laughter. Yet, everyone knows his favorite hobby was dining. Bob had an insatiable appetite for good food and good company, always ready for a meal, whether at home or in a favorite restaurant.

Bob’s generosity and optimism were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. His happy demeanor and love for life created a welcoming atmosphere that drew people in.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Parkview Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during Bob’s final days. Their kindness and support were a great comfort to Bob and his family, ensuring his last moments were filled with dignity and love.

Bob will be remembered as a man who embraced life completely, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and memories. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
