Robert “Bob” Charleston, a longtime member of the Fort Wayne community, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 at 80.
Born August 31, 1943, in Fort Wayne, where he spent most of his life in the city he called his home. Bob was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather. He was full of humor, vibrance, & generosity.
He is survived by his three children, James Charleston, Chelsie Petereit & Erin Olson, their spouses, twelve grandchildren, & four great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Georgia Holmes, MaryLou Chronister, and Sue Dziamara, and three brothers, Charles Kim Charleston, the late Jon Charleston, & Bradley Baker.
Bob’s professional career was marked by owning several small businesses. He was an avid fisher- man, he loved the lakes & boating. In earlier years, he spent time golfing and playing softball. An accomplished auctioneer, he donated time to charity auctions/benefits to support causes in the community.
A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
