Robert "Bob" E. Zimmerman

Robert “Bob” E. Zimmerman, 87 of Butler, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.

He was born on August 24, 1938 in Butler to Charles and Margaret (Hubbart) Zimmerman.  He was a graduate of Butler High School.

Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army from March of 1959 until April of 1962. 

He married Janet (Rottger) Zimmerman on October 8, 1982 in Butler and Janet continues to reside in Butler.     

Bob worked for Commercial Shearing in Butler for 22 years before going to work as a cabinet maker for Dutch Made Custom Cabinetry in Grabill for 15 years, retiring in 2002.

He enjoyed woodworking and enjoyed making pieces for family and friends.  He also enjoyed watching old westerns on TV and spending time with his family, especially playing with his grandkids. 

The Zimmerman family would like to thank the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler for the wonderful care that they gave to Bob and his family.

His wife of 43 years, Janet Zimmerman of Butler.

Daughter, Sandra Crise of Waterloo.

Daughter, Rebecca Feightner of Butler.

Daughter, Tina Myers of Butler.

Daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Doug Nuckols of Huntertown.

Son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Joyce King of Garrett.

Son and daughter-in-law, James and Mellisa Shirks of Butler.

Daughter and son-in-law, Melissia and Troy Bungard of Waterloo.

28 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Sister, Beatrice Green of Butler.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayne King; two brothers and two sisters and brother-in-law, Warren Green.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Diehl officiating.

Burial will take place at Butler Cemetery in Butler.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Bob to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
