Roger Alan Miller, Army Soldier, Husband, Dad, Pops, Brother and Son, a man that wore many hats and who was many things to many people passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn.
He was born on September 16, 1962 in Auburn to James and Sandra (Anthony) Miller.
Roger honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1981-1985. He was stationed in Ansbach, Germany for some of that time and served in the Medical Division as an x-ray technician.
He married his wife Dawn (Myers) Miller on February 2, 2002 at Norris Chapel United Methodist Church in Auburn.
Upon coming home from his service in the military, Roger worked at DeKalb Memorial Hospital as the Head of the Radiology Department for five years. He then got into selling real estate for seven years, founding Fairway Realtors, Inc. for a portion of that time. In 2002, Roger and Dawn purchased the Pizza King in Auburn and have operated it together for the last 21 years. He and Dawn also bought and flipped several houses over of the years.
Roger was a member of the DeKalb Masonic Lodge #214 and Norris Chapel Church. He loved lake life, especially fishing and spending time with family. He also liked spending time at the beach in Florida. Roger was an avid poker player, even making it all the way to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Son and daughter-in-law; Colton and Sarah Miller of Memphis, Tennessee.
Daughter; Olivia Martin of Auburn.
Daughter and son-in-law; Ashton and Trent Huff of Auburn.
Daughter and her fiancé; Meghann Miller and Austin Voigt of Hamilton.
Six grandchildren; Sutton Huff, Payton Huff, Luke Martin, Makenna Martin, Brynlee Voigt and Hadlee Voigt.
Many surviving brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his father; James Miller and his mother; Sandra Shepherd.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, May 25 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Military Honors will be held on Thursday at 3:45 PM just prior to the gathering time.
A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the gathering time at 7:00 PM
Memorial donations may be given to the Miller Family to help with expenses and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306 (Since 9/11, Tunnel to Towers has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders)
