Auburn – Rose E. Shipe, 92, of Auburn, passed away, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Garrett.
She was born March 16, 1932, in Pleasant Lake.
Rose married Robert H. Shipe on August 19, 1950, at the Ashley United Methodist Church, and he passed away October 5, 1986.
She worked for the Messenger Corp. in Auburn for five years and then worked for the L & K Motel as a housekeeper for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed Indiana University Basketball, Detroit Tiger Baseball and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Steve A. and Debra Shipe of Angola, Greg R. and Jenny Shipe of Auburn, Jim B. and Deb Shipe of Hudson and Peggy R. and Jeff Bell of Attica; six grandchildren, Adam Shipe, Nicole (Andrew) Robarge, Alicia (John) Carter, Bobby (Elizabeth Mausker) Fox, Victoria Shipe, and Christa Shipe; seven great grandchildren, Callen Robarge, Luke Robarge, Evan Robarge, Nora Robarge, Quinn Carter, Brooks Carter and Rhett Shipe; and a brother, Richard M. Rowe.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen F. Rowe; mother, Carrie L. (Nelson) Mills; brother, Bernard Rowe; and sister, Violet M. Lepley.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Craig officiating. Burial will take place at Circle Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. Monday, September, 23, 2024, prior to the service at the funeral home.
