Ruth Ann Davis, age 86 of Hamilton Lake, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Astral in Auburn.
She was born on April 13, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Emmett and Hulda (Ramsey) Bowie. She was a 1957 graduate of Columbia City High School.
She was raised in Columbia City and was the oldest of ten children. She graduated from Columbia City High School, where she played the clarinet in the school band. In 1961, she married Jack, and together they made their home in Hamilton, where she embraced lake life and cherished time spent with family and friends.
She was employed by Hamilton Community Schools for 32 years, retiring in 2001. During her dedicated career, she served as secretary to the Superintendent and Transportation Director, recording secretary for the Hamilton School Board, and coordinator for Dollars for Scholars. She was also active in the community, serving as secretary of the Hamilton Lake Association and the Highlands Association.
She and Jack spent 21 winters in North Port, Florida, where she was an active member of the Lazy River community. She enjoyed serving on the welcoming committee and participating in the Red Hat Society and a bowling team, forming many lasting friendships along the way.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack A. Davis of Auburn; three daughters and their spouses, Leslie and Shawn Bondy of Fort Wayne, Lisa and Tom Ford of Indianapolis and Rhonda and Gary Marsh of Findley, Ohio; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Davis Bondy, Miranda and Matt Lyda, Chelsie and Guillermo Perales, Anna Ford, Kyle Smith, Colton Smith and Kelley and Karlie Ford; six great grandchildren; six sisters and their spouses, Joan Harrigan of Lafeyette, Indiana, Adele Rouch of Columbia City, Berniece White of Columbia City, Deb and Tom McClurg, Laura and Dan McDaniel of Van Wert, Ohio and Rebecca Bowie of Fort Wayne.
She preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Louis “Bud” Bowie and two sisters, Susan Wolfe and Judith Tarlton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 4:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date at the Hamilton Cemetery.
