Auburn – Sally J Kelly, 85, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at her home in Auburn.
She was born in Garrett, Indiana on November 19, 1939 to Lee D. and Helen E (Smalley) Shafer. Her mother died when Sally was six years old. Her father remarried and the person that helped raise her was Gladys Marie (Smith) Shafer.
Sally was a 1957 graduate of Auburn High School.
She worked as a lead Lady at Essex for 5 years, Grimes Aerospace in Urbana, Ohio for 10 years then as a Lead Lady for Crane Edmond for 3 years. She was also a Welcome Wagon Hostess in Auburn.
She married Clyde W Kelly on March 3, 1972 in Auburn and he survives.
She is also survived by 2 sons and a daughter in law, Scott K Smith of Hamilton and Michael A and Kimberly Smith of Waterloo; 4 grandchildren, Logan (Christina) Smith, Alex (Amanda) Smith, Abby (Tanner) VanAuken and Dominick Trevino; 5 great grandchildren, Eli Smith, Henry Smith, Amos Smith, Roy Smith and Anya VanAuken; brother, Jack L (Mick) Shafer of Omaha, Nebraska, and dear family friend, Amanda (Donald) Mapp and their son Wade Mapp..
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jennifer L Trevino and an infant brother, Richard Shafer.
Services will be 11 AM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706 with burial to follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
