Sally Mae Rowe, 70 of Auburn passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026.
She was born September 26, 1955 in Garrett to Wayne and Helen (Chapman) Haynes.
Sally was a 1973 graduate of DeKalb High School.
She worked for Auburn City Utilities for over 30 years. She served as County Planning and Zoning Administrator for several years before going back to Auburn City Utilities before retiring in 2017.
Sally was a member of Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren and she spent a lot of time helping other people. She enjoyed to singing and loved animals.
She married Steven M Rowe on October 13, 1973 in the Cedar Lake Church of the Brethren and he survives.
Also surviving is a daughter and son, Tabitha R. (Merritt Dunkin) Rowe of Auburn and a son Derek W Rowe of Auburn; 2 sisters and a brother, Marie (Tom Bliss) Sanders of Sebring, Florida, Allen Haynes of Auburn and Ruth (Jerry) Powell of Ames, Iowa; there are also many nieces, nephews and cousins that are spread out all over the place.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother in laws, Lloyd and Delores Rowe, brother, Larry Haynes, 2 brothers in laws, Larry Sanders and Michael Rowe.
Services will be 10 AM Friday, June 5, 2026 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN 46706. Calling is Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 2 to 7 PM at the funeral home. The family asks that memorials be given in memory of Sally to the DeKalb County Humane Shelter or DeKalb County Pink Out, Inc. Fund, c/o Community Foundation, DeKalb County.
