Sammy M. Morr, age 89 of Auburn, was welcomed by the Lord on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Parkview DeKalb Hospital with family by his side.
Born in Auburn, Indiana on April 23, 1936, he was the son of Walter and Edna (Reinhart) Morr.
Sammy graduated from Concord-Spencer High School, class of 1954. He then enlisted in the Army, stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas.
On November 2, 1957 Sammy married his high school sweetheart, Joyce (LaRowe) Morr. They enjoyed 42 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2000.
They were active members of Auburn and Garrett United Methodist churches and also County Line Church of God.
Sammy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a lifelong DeKalb county farmer as well as a former school bus driver and 4-H leader. He enjoyed watching Major League Baseball, IU and Purdue basketball, Colts and Chiefs football, and reading Western fiction.
Sammy is survived by three daughters, Renee (Les) Grawcock, Tucson, Arizona, Terri Morr, Auburn, Indiana and Diane (David) Kieser, Indianapolis, Indiana, along with six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Sammy was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents, and two brothers, Harold and Norman Morr.
No public service or viewing is planned. Private burial will be held at a later date.
