Sara Weihmiller Obituary

Sara B. Weihmiller, 82, of Garrett, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born on April 10, 1944, in Pinetop, Kentucky, to Steward "Byrd" and Edna (Slone) Pratt. She graduated from Carr Creek High School in Carr Creek, Kentucky.

Sara married Cooley L. Everidge on December 24, 1960, in Hindman, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1988. She later married John E. Weihmiller on November 29, 1991, in Auburn, and he survives in Garrett.

Sara worked as a supervisor at Electric Motors in Garrett for 32 years, retiring in 2003. Following retirement, she and John spent 18 winters in Mission, Texas, where she was a member of the Tea Pot Band and served as past president of Split Rail Community Park. She was also a member of New Life Church in Garrett, and she and John enjoyed traveling as members of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

Sara had a passion for sewing and quilting and was an excellent cook who loved preparing meals for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose home was always filled with love and hospitality. She never knew a stranger and cherished every opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, John Weihmiller of Garrett; three sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick "Dean" and Dilla Everidge of Kendallville, Indiana, Paul Eugene and Candice Everidge of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Phillip Ray and Holly Everidge of Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Andrew J. and Michelle Weihmiller of Fort Ann, New York, and Daniel E. Weihmiller of Vermont; a stepdaughter, Gail and Casy Scheurich of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ermadine Pratt of Hindman, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Theresa Pratt of Hindman, Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cooley L. Everidge; a daughter, Patricia Everidge; seven brothers, Coushel Pratt, Keyser Pratt, Ruby Pratt, Leeokery Pratt, Orvile Pratt, Frank Pratt, and Steward Pratt Jr.; and two sisters, Letty Pratt and Martha Picklesimer.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.

A private family committal service will take place at the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Auburn at a later time.

Memorial donations may be given in memory of Sara to the Garrett American Legion, 515 West Fifth Avenue, Garrett, Indiana 46738.
