Sharon Snavley Obituary

Sharon Snavley, 81, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at Millers Merry Manor in Garrett.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1942, in Galveston, Texas.

Sharon was an LPN for Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Auburn, went to work as a forklift driver for Mossberg Industries in Garrett, and later went to work as an LPN for Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was a member of The Church at Garrett for the past several years.

Sharon loved helping people in need. Her family was her world, especially her grandchildren.

She enjoyed bowling and was part of a bowling league in Auburn for several years. She also enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, playing solitaire on the computer, doing word searches and talking to many people on her CB radio. Her CB handle was Lost Angel.

Surviving are four sons and their spouses, Roger and Deborah Keck, of Conroe, Texas, Tim and Roxie Miller, of Churubusco, Donald Burcham, of Butler and his fiancé, Sharmon and Ronald Snavley, of Auburn; three stepchildren, Dawn Snavley Rondot and her husband, Larry, of Columbus, Ohio, William Snavley Jr., of Fort Wayne and Margie Snavley Chase and her husband, Scott, of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Sue Vandenburg, of Bradenton, Florida; and a brother, David Charles Putney, of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Charles Putney; mother, Barbara Ann Hoffman; and a sister, Joyce Ann Dickens.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will take place at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at The Church at Garrett, 1370 S. Randolph St., Garrett, with Pastor Tom Wilcoxson officiating.

Memorial donations may be directed to The Church at Garrett, 1370 S. Randolph St., Garrett, in benefit of the nursing staff of Millers Merry Manor in Garrett.
