Avilla – Sharon R Vaughan, 73, died Monday November 6, 2023 at her home in Avilla.
She was born October 20, 1950 in Fort Wayne to Ross and Violet (Deam) Holden.
Sharon was a homemaker and also worked at Kendallville Manor, Sacred Heart Nursing Home in Avilla and the Noble County Council on Aging in Kendallville. She also delivered newspapers for the News-Sun for several years.
She was a founding member of New Life Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She enjoyed going to Stock Car Races at Mottville Speedway in Michigan and was a long time Komet Hockey season ticket holder. She was also an avid garage sale shopper
Sharon married Charles H Vaughan on February 7, 1970 in the Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Joe and he survives in Avilla.
Also surviving is a son , daughter and their spouses, Christopher and Tamara Vaughan of Garrett and Zonda and Kelby Musselman of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren, John Vaughan, Shania (Nathan) Arnett, Zach (Brooke Heaston) Vaughan, Devin Sheets, Blake Sheets, Kole Musselman, Serenity Miller, Gary Miller and Jazzlynn Miller; 4 great grandchildren, Ivyelle Vaughan, Vincent Vaughan, Penelope Vaughan and Ophelia Hope Rose Arnett; a brother, Richard Holden of Angola and a sister in law, Judith Holden of Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Eric Vaughan, a grandson Vincent Musselman and 2 brothers, Herbert Holden and Merle Holden.
Services will be 11 am Saturday November 11, 2023 at New Life Lutheran Church, 365 Lockhart Street, Waterloo, IN 46793. Burial will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, St. Joe. Calling is from 2 to 7 PM Friday at the church and also 1 hour prior to the service Saturday from 10 to 11 at the church. Lay Pastor Ryan Holden will officiate.
