PETERSTOWN — Sterling Dean Ramsey, originally from Peterstown, WV, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, in Westerville, OH. He was 69 years old.
Born on September 12, 1949 in Pearisburg, VA, Dean worked hard to help put himself through school, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He worked his entire adult life as an Environmental Engineer, leading complex projects for municipalities across many different states and foreign countries. He was forever dedicated to the profession and deeply devoted to the clients he served.
Dean was proud of both where he came from and the life that foundation allowed him to build, keeping a relentless focus on family throughout his life. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet (Skelly) and their two children Jaclyn (Thomas) Considine and James (Rachel). He is also survived by his mother, Faye (Foster) and two sisters, Nancy (Terry) Kornegay and Kathy Robertson. In addition, he is survived by his devoted niece, Lisa Tubbs, his mother-in-law, Laurine Skelly, and many other loving relatives and friends. Above all, he is survived by the pride and joys of his life, his three grandchildren, Caffrey (7), Teagan (4) and Margaret (1). They will miss their Papa dearly.
He was proceeded in death by his father, James Ramsey, and his father-in-law, Harold Skelly.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Chapel Church of the Brethren, 1993 C.R. 8, Ashley, IN, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna.
Visitation also will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, IN.
