Steve Birkenbeul, 80, of Hamilton, Indiana, passed away on May 17, 2026. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, on July 1, 1945, “Birk” was an avid reader, Winchester enthusiast, decoy carver, hunter, woodworker, the original upcycler, and general outdoorsman who never turned down an adventure.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda; daughter Stacey (Gary) Beam of Ft. Wayne; son Jason (Grousha) Birkenbeul of Ft. Wayne; son Josh Birkenbeul of Hamilton; and Barb DeWitt of Ft. Wayne, mother of his children. Also surviving are stepchildren, Emily (Josh) Surowitz of Crockett, CA; and Dan (Katie) Grill of Madison, IN.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Coon Hunters Lodge, 7141 C.R. 4A, Hamilton.
A time of sharing will follow the gathering at 2:30 p.m. at Coon Hunters Lodge.
