Susan Kaye (Sommers) Smith

Angola - Susan Kaye Smith, 74, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at her home in Angola.

Susan was born November 11, 1946, in Hoagland, to Ralph and Alice (Pearsall) Sommers. They preceded her in death.

Susan married Ronald L. Smith Sr. on January 27, 1968, in Fort Wayne, and he survives in Angola.

Susan was a farmer’s wife. She also worked as a custodian for the Hamilton School District while her children were young and eventually co-owned Smith Auto Sales in Fort Wayne where she was the business accountant.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Angola.

Susan Kaye Smith was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Her world revolved around her grandson, Kaleb, and they loved gardening together.

Also surviving are five daughters and a son, Rhonda Smith of Angola, Tina Smith of Angola, Ronald Smith Jr. of Angola, Rebecca Smith of Angola, Suzanna Smith of Angola and Richelle Smith of Angola; her loving grandson, Kaleb Lee Smith of Angola; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Vi Sommers of Fort Wayne and Mike and Marilyn Sommers of Fort Wayne.

 A private family service will be held at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo. Burial will take place at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo.

Per Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb’s mandate, face coverings, and social distancing will be required. There will only be 50 people allowed inside the funeral home for visitation at one time, so visitors may need to be prepared to wait outside.

Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hospital Heart Center or Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Angola.
