Terry L. Johnson, 63, of Hamilton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home.
He attended Lafayette Elementary and Homestead High School. He earned an associate’s degree in business management at Indiana Wesleyan University.
He worked at Cooper Tire in Auburn, GE in Fort Wayne and Arden in Fort Wayne. In his late 40s he moved to Arizona, to work with his brother.
He recently returned to Indiana, for his retirement to live in his home, which he designed.
Terry had many hobbies; most knew him as a fisherman and outdoorsman. This unassuming gentleman also loved traveling and remote camping. The settings of solitude brought him peace. He also loved kayaking, canning, making wine and beer and gardening. He cherished family and enjoyed hosting their reunions at his home.
One of his proudest achievements was helping to raise his stepchildren, Ryan and Dana. Terry was a devoted stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, pet owner and friend.
Terry is survived by his parents, Ken and Charlotte (Cupp) Johnson; siblings, Keith (Helen) Johnson, Chris Johnson, Brian Johnson and Brenda (Rodney) Zeddis; niece, Emily (Jaiden Parker) Zeddis; nephew, Nathan Zeddis; and great-nephew, Sage Parker. Also surviving is his stepson, Ryan (Karrie) Wood; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, who loved to spend time with the “Great Outdoorsman”. His teachings and adventures will be everlasting.
He was preceded in death by all his grandparents; and his stepdaughter, Dana Wood.
Funeral services will be held at Feller & Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St. Auburn, IN 46706, from 2-4 p.m., on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
