Thomas Andrew Overmyer

Thomas Andrew Overmyer, 46, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at his home in Ashley, Indiana.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1977, in Muncie, Indiana.

He was a 1995 graduate of Round Lake High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

Tom married Heidi L. Buckmaster on July 31, 1999, in Corunna, Indiana, and she survives in Ashley.

He was a manufacturing engineer for TI Fluid Systems of Ashley for more than 25 years.

Tom was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed being outside shooting at different targets. He also enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator.

Tom had several hobbies including, playing bass guitar, collecting stamps, sketching, backpacking, camping, reading, going for walks, fly fishing, fly tying, bird watching and photography. He loved his cat and dog, but his son, Ryan, was his pride and joy.

Also surviving are his son, Ryan T. (Layla Whitenack) Overmyer, of Auburn; father and stepmother, Erik and Christie Overmyer, of Ashley; mother and stepfather, Sue and Jerry Mattingly, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Carrie Overmyer, of Los Angles, California, and Christopher and Kaity Overmyer, of De Graff, Ohio; stepsisters, Amy (Johnny) Withers, of Hartford City and Christina (Larry) Martin, of Leo; stepbrother, Jeremy (Elena) Valentine, of Warren; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Lynne Buckmaster, of Ashley; sisters-in-law, Heather (Steve) Mikesell, of Ashley and Holly (Justin) Adams, of Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepsister, Nicole Mattingly.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with visitation from 10-11 a.m., on Friday, prior to the service.

Pastor Joel Potter will be officiating.

Burial will take place at Fairfield Cemetery in rural Corunna.

Visitation also will be held from 3-7 p.m., on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Tom’s wife, Heidi Overmyer, to be put toward their son, Ryan Overmyer’s future.
