Tonia Carper Obituary

Tonia Sue Carper, 64 of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

She was born on September 3, 1960 in Auburn to Homer “Junior” and Wilda (Rowe) Gibson.  She was a 1978 graduate of DeKalb High School.

Tonia married Robert Carper on March 30, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Bob resides in Auburn.

She worked at both The Brown House in Auburn and the Auburn Bowl for over 30 years.  Tonia was a member of the American Legion Post 97 Women’s Auxiliary, the Garrett County Club and the Auburn Women’s Bowling Association.  She was an avid golfer and bowler.  In her 20 plus years of golfing, Tonia was the Garrett County Club Ladies Club Champion twice and had a hole-in-one.  Her happy place was spending time with Bob on the golf course any chance they could.  In over 50 years of bowling, Tonia won several league championships and tournaments and is a member of the Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame at the Auburn Bowl.

Family was very important to Tonia and she loved spending time with them, she especially loved spending time with her grandkids and attending their activities when she was able.  She will be greatly missed!
