Violet M. (Rowe) Lepley

Violet M. Lepley, 93, of Hudson, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, at Lakeland Rehab and Healthcare Center in Angola, Indiana.

She was born on May 28, 1930, in Steuben County, Indiana, to Allen and Lucille (Nelson) Rowe.

Violet married Ted D. Lepley Sr., on Jan. 15, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Ashley, and he passed away on June 27, 2004.

She was co-owner of Ted’s Body Shop, where she helped her husband with the office side of the business, along with running the home and raising their four children.

Violet accepted God as her Savior.

She had a loving family. She enjoyed playing the violin and piano, crocheting and loved spending time socializing with her sister, Rosie, and her mother, Lucille. She also held the title as Miss Steuben County in 1946.

Surviving are two daughters, Teri S. (Denny) Schiffli, of Hamilton and Tami J. Bell, of Fort Wayne; brother, Richard Rowe; sister, Rosie Shipe; and she leaves behind her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Penny Lepley-Herber; son, Ted D. Lepley Jr.; son-in-law, James W. Bell; brother, Bernard Rowe; and sister-in-law, Viola Rowe.

There will be a private graveside service at Circle Cemetery in rural Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a local Ashley or Hudson church of your choice.
