Wayne Leroy Hanna

Wayne Leroy Hanna, 94 of Hamilton, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025.  He was born in Hicksville, Ohio on February 14, 1931 to Wealtha and Faye Hanna.

Wayne graduated from Saint Joe, Indiana in 1949.  He worked for the Ayro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, until he retired in 1996.

Wayne married Nancy Jane (Davis) Hanna on June 9, 1951, at which time they moved to Hamilton Lake where they raised their family.  Wayne has been a life-long member of Hamilton Church of Christ.

Wayne, or “Pop” as his family affectionately referred to him, never knew a stranger, nor did he ever have an enemy.  He was very social.  He enjoyed mowing, fixing mowers, hunting turkeys and pheasants, snowmobiling in Michigan with family and friends, and taking trips with Evelyn’s Excursions.  He and “Nurse Nancy” went on more than fifty bus trips after their retirement.  He gave of himself to the Hamilton Church of Christ, serving on the board and as an elder.  He was a staple at Roger’s Harvest House where he was pampered by the staff.

Surviving are his three children; William (Jill) Hanna of Angola, Steven (Kris) Hanna of Angola, and Beth Krohn of Hamilton.  Also surviving are five grandchildren; Adam (Amy) Hanna of Neillsville, Wisconsin, Matthew (Heather) Hanna of Angola, Evan Hanna (Paige Theiler) of Attica, Indiana,  Ben (Jamie) Krohn of Hamilton, and Daniel Krohn of Ashley, Indiana.  Wayne is also survived by three step-children, several nieces and nephews as well as six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a brief service held to be held at 1:00 PM at the Hamilton Church of Christ, 4045 East Bellefontaine Road in Hamilton.

A private interment at Eddy’s Cemetery will be held at a later time.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hamilton Church of Christ.
